Golf at Las Sendas

Las Sendas is a beautiful golf course about 15 minutes north of our Mesa house. We often go there for supper on the patio as the sunset view of Phoenix is gorgeous. This time we even golfed there!!

According to the dictionary "Sendas" is Spanish for path, and this golf course is a  beautiful grassy path through the desert. Don and I golfed with Shane and Melanie and had a great time!

Sedona Drive

The four of us drove north of Phoenix today. We stopped at Montezuma Castle. It is an early Pueblo People dwelling on the side of a cliff. Interesting.

Then on to Sedona. Lunch at Blue Moon Cafe, and hike near Red Rock Bell. Further driving and site seeing.

Home to Mesa where Don had a yummy supper waiting - fish, skewered veggies, grilled asparagus and quinoa salad. Followed by Red Velvet cake for dessert. All eaten on our outdoor patio. Gorgeous evening.

Morning Hike

Drove to Lost Dutchman State Park and hiked the Treasure Loop Trail. Gorgeous morning, not too hot with a light breeze.

Then on to Tortilla Flats for sustenance. Ie. a beer, burritos and ice cream. Yummy!!  Now time for a nap. Whew.

Farewell and Spa

We said goodbye to Shannon and Janet who flew to Vegas and Winnipeg, respectively. It sure was fun to have all six PlaP girls together.

Leanne, Diana, Erin and I walked to the local spa and had manicure/pedicures. Cute toes. Guess who?

After a bit of shopping at Superstition Springs Mall we headed to Rustlers Rooste for a cowboy meal. There we were able to see the lights of Phoenix.

All Together

The six PlaP friends had a photo op before Shannon and Janet headed to the airport. Shannon is heading to LasVegas to meet Ernie. Janet is flying home to Randy.

The other four of us went for a manicure and pedicure. Can you guess who belongs to which toes?

Mesa Flea Market

Had to show the girls the market. Hundreds of stalls of merchandise from kitschy to unique. I checked out the cacti, Diana checked out the grandma t-shirts and we all bought a t shirt to wear tonight to celebrate our get together. Janet likes the house next door that is for sale!

Saguaro Lake, Fountain Hills and Scottsdale

Toured Janet and Shannon around the area. We drove out to Saguaro Lake. Stopped to get a photo by a giant saguaro cactus. Then on to Fountain Hills where we had a fabulous lunch in a patio deck and enjoyed the fountain. We walked around the lake and shopped at the Fountain Hills Gallery. The gallery is a coop of 40 artists. The various art work is wonderful. A great stop!!

On to Scottsdale. We mostly window shopped, but we did spend some time in Gilbert Ortegas, a jewelry store specializing in Navajo and other Native American pieces. We met up with Don, Shane, penny and Larry for supper at Banderas. This restaurant specializes in wood roasted chicken and grilled corn bread. It was another great meal.
